BUDAPEST, Oct 15 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo
Sanader on Wednesday arrived in Budapest at the head of a Croatian
delegation invited by the Hungarian side. He was received by Matyas
Eorsi, the state secretary at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign
Affairs.
Sanader and Eorsi held talks on bilateral cooperation between
Croatia and Hungary. Political cooperation is excellent, they
assessed, and concluded the development of economic cooperation must
be stepped up.
According to Eorsi, Hungary fully supports Croatia's efforts
for the UNTAES mandate in the Danube river region to terminate on 15
January next year which, he said, must be followed by the presence
of observers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in
Europe.
Hungary also supports Croatia's efforts to be included in
Europe's political, economic and military associations, Eorsi said.
Croatia's Sanader said that Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa
accepted the invitation of his Hungarian counterpart Gyula Horn to
visit Hungary on 19 November.
The Croatian delegation was also received by the chairman of
the Hungarian parliament's foreign policy committee, Istvan Sent-
Ivanyi.
In the afternoon, Sanader and associates visited the Croatian
World Minority Self-Administration. Representatives of Hungarian
Croats proposed that the Croatian government establish an office for
Croats in neighbouring countries. They also asked for a special
programme on Croatian Television.
