A statement issued after the meeting said that the high
officials discussed future efforts in removing obstacles to the
implementation of the peace process in the country and the extension
of the mandate of international peace forces after June 1998.
The U.S. administration would announce its decision on that
complicated question in the next couple of months.
Today's talks also tackled other important questions such as
the return of refugees, the establishment of a railway net and the
status of Ploce port, said the statement adding that Gelbard had
positively estimated the recently held local elections.
