ZAGREB, Sept 30 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Tuesday received the newly-appointed Swedish Ambassador to Croatia,
Ingemar Boerjesson, who presented his credentials.
Boerjesson said that the good relations between Croatia and
Sweden should be further developed. He stressed the personal
contribution of President Tudjman in creating the modern and
independent Croatia.
Sweden is following with positive interest the development of
the Croatian state on the basis of the values and principles of
democracy and human rights. It supports that development,
particularly the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danube
region, the Swedish diplomat said.
Tudjman said that Croatia had so far demonstrated that it was
and would remain a constructive factor in the peace process in the
region.
Tudjman said that Croatia attached great importance to the
development of overall relations with Sweden.
As an example of successful cooperation, Boerjesson cited the
investment of Sweden's leading telecommunications company Ericsson
in Nikola Tesla, adding that he saw the exploitation of water power
as another field of cooperation.
