SARAJEVO, Sept 26 (Hina) - The chief prosecutor for the
International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY),
Louise Arbour, told a news conference in Sarajevo on Friday it
was scandalous for those responsible for the apprehension of
Radovan Karadzic not to have done so yet. #L#
The Republika Srpska government was most responsible for
the apprehension of Karadzic, but nobody should be out of the
reach of the whole world and NATO forces just because it had not
carried out the apprehension, Arbour stressed.
Possible new apprehensions of persons indicted of war
crimes could be carried out using little force, she said.
Arbour expressed dissatisfaction with Yugoslavia's and
Croatia's 'little' cooperation with ICTY.
She said she would try to keep all indictments and warrants
under seal, adding that she believed they would contribute to the
apprehension of the indictees.
I am determined to have the ICTY investigation and
prosecution directed at persons responsible for the worst crimes
in this region after 1991, Arbour said.
