The law stipulates that an interested party may request of
a Croatian court or authorised administrative body to verify
whether a certain document or decision is concordant or opposed
to the Constitution, Constitutional Law of Croatian laws.
Authorised ministers are to draw up provisions in order for
the law to be carried out.
The law takes effect upon its publication in the Official
Gazette of Croatia.
The law was prepared with the cooperation of UNTAES, and is
a precondition for the reintegration of the justice system in the
Croatian Danubian area.
Representatives of the government stressed several times
during the discussion that under the law, by-laws passed by
authorities in the former occupied areas would not be validated.
