RUPA, Sept 23 (Hina) - After a two-day visit to Slovenia,
Croatian Interior Minister Ivan Penic said at the Rupa-Jelsane
border crossing on Tuesday that after official talks in
Ljubljana, an agreement had been signed between the Croatian and
Slovene government on the protection of natural and other
disasters. #L#
He added that he had talked with representatives of the
Slovene defence and interior ministries about cooperation between
the two neighbouring countries' police services during the past
tourist season.
Both sides had estimated, Penic said, that cooperation had
been at a high level because an international border crossing had
been made available in an hour, which had not been used for that
purpose.
The visit to Slovenia had been very useful, and the
cooperation with the Slovene Interior Ministry would continue,
Penic said.
He especially pointed out the connection between the two
countries' criminal police departments, the joint fight against
crime.
