LJUBLJANA, 23 Sept (Hina) - Delegations of the Croatian and Slovene
interior ministries held talks on their past and future cooperation
in Ljubljana on Tuesday. #L#
The Croatian and Slovene interior ministers Ivan Penic and
Mirko Bandelj respectively stated that the talks, which had tackled
all questions from the area of internal affairs, were fruitful.
Bandelj stressed the good cooperation between the two
ministries (which dates back to 1991), the quality of which was
sometimes better than that of the overall relations between the two
countries.
Slovenia wanted to have the Shengen-type control of its border
with Croatia.
Croatia's Penic expressed Croatia's readiness to introduce the
system of control of its border which would be based on the Shengen
agreement.
Slovenia's Bandelj also stated that more effort should be put
into the solution of the problem of the so-called Balkan drug
smuggling route.
