ZAGREB, 17 Sept (Hina) - The Croatian Reconstruction and Development
Minister Jure Radic on Wednesday received the incoming head of the
U.N. High Commission for Refugees' (UNHCR) mission in Croatia,
Robert N. Robinson.
According to a statement released by the Reconstruction and
Development Ministry, Radic informed Robinson about the process of
reconstruction and the return of displaced people.
Radic stressed the fact that reconstruction costs had so far
been covered by Croatia alone, with insignificant support by the
international community, and that it expected more help and
cooperation in the future.
The return of Serbs from the Croatian Danube river region to
other parts of Croatia is proceeding more quickly than the return of
Croats to the Danube river region, Radic said.
Robinson said that his office wanted to get an objective
insight into problems and provide unbiased assistance for all those
who want to return to their homes.
Robinson was also received by the Minister of Labour and
Social Welfare Joso Skara. Skara informed Robinson about the
Croatian government's efforts in reintegrating the Danube river
region and caring for old and feeble citizens.
