GLINA, Sept 3 (Hina) - In the town of Glina, 70 kilometres southeast
of Zagreb, 260th anniversary of the session of Croatian Parliament
at the fortress of Glina was marked on Wednesday.
Present at the ceremony was Nedjeljko Mihanovic, an MP and
the envoy of the Croatian Parliament President.
Speaking of the importance of the 4 September 1737
parliamentary in Glina, Mihanovic said that "Croatian 'Sabor' is one
of the oldest parliaments in the world, and it was established in
1273. For 724 years a small people like the Croatian has had its
parliament, which have had fought, all that time, for the
sovereignty, freedom and the defence of the Croatian people and the
Croatian statehood, and it has preserved this tradition until this
day."
