THE HAGUE, Sep 1 (Hina) - The Trial Chamber of the International
Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), announced two
hearings at the case of Slavko Dokmanovic, accused of war crimes
committed against patients of the hospital in the eastern
Croatian town of Vukovar, the ICTY said in a statement on Monday.
The first, closed-door, session hearing, scheduled for
September 5, will deal with the arguments of the Defence and
Prosecution regarding the videotape of the arrest of the accused
Croatian Serb. The Defence claimed that Dokmanovic was arrested
in an illegal manner, and the Prosecution refused to hand over
the videotape. Three judges of the ICTY Trial Chamber should view
the videotape in order to make a decision on the subject.
The other hearing, scheduled for September 8, the Hague-
based Tribunal will hear a witness, proposed by the Defence, as
part of its complaint that Dokmanovic's arrest was not legal.
According to the decision of the Tribunal, the witness would be
granted additional safety and security.
The three-member Trial Chamber at the Dokmanovic case is
chaired by Judge Gabrielle Kirk-McDonald.
