SKOPJE, Aug 29 (Hina) - Macedonian Labour and Social Welfare
Minister Naser Ziberi on Friday received a Croatian Immigration
Ministry delegation, currently on a four-day visit to Macedonia.
During one-hour talks, the two delegations stressed good
prospects for furthering the good relations between the two
countries and the similarity of views on all political issues.
Among the issues discussed was the return to Croatia of 2,800
Croats who had found refuge in Macedonia during the war. Of that
number, 468 were accommodated by the UN High Commission for
Refugees.
About 3,000 Croats have a permanent residence in Macedonia.
The Croatian delegation, led by Deputy Immigration Minister
Josip Juras, was also received by the Roman Catholic Bishop of
Skopje, Joakim Herbut.
On Saturday, the Croatian officials are scheduled to visit
Macedonia's Orthodox Church Metropolitan, Kiril, and the Croat
community in Bitola.
