BELI MANASTIR, Aug 26 (Hina) - A Croatian post office was opened
in the UN-administered eastern town of Beli Manastir on Tuesday.
The office will perform all post and telecommunications services
and financial transactions.
The office was opened by Osijek County prefect Branimir
Glavas in the presence of local and county officials and
representatives of the UN Transitional Administration in the
region.
The Croatian Post and Telecommunications company invested
400,000 kuna, or $62,500, in equipping the office.
Also on Tuesday, Gradska Banka of Osijek opened an office
in Beli Manastir, its first in the Danube river region. Slavonska
Banka opened its office on Saturday.
