VUKOVAR, July 23 (Hina) - During his visit to Vukovar on Wednesday, Croatian Agriculture and Forestry Minister Zlatko Dominikovic expressed satisfaction with the harvest in the Croatian Danube river region, and announced that the
harvest would be completed in about ten days despite the bad weather.

During his visit to the Vupik silo in Vukovar, Dominikovic stressed that the
harvest and purchase of wheat in the Danubian area were well organised, that +
the
wheat was being paid off on time and it was being transported to Croatian silos.
He announced that the VUPIK (Vukovar-based food factory) Board of
Supervisors is to hold a session next week, and discuss the future of the +
company,
mine removal, preparations for the autumn sowing, purchase of milk and +
livestock
breeding in the Danubian area.
Ivica Capo, a representative of the Zagreb-based Inteagra company, one of the
companies which the Agriculture Ministry had authorised to purchase wheat in +
the
Danubian area, said there were no difficulties in the organisation of the +
harvest,
transport and purchase of wheat. He added that the wheat in the region may be +
of a
higher quality than in other parts of Slavonia.
Wheat from the Vukovar area is stored in the Vukovar silo from where it is
transported to mills in Karlovac, Valpovo and Sisak, Capo said.
