OSIJEK, 13 (Hina) - The Osijek Association of Families of Missing
and Imprisoned Croatian Defenders on Wednesday held a protest
meeting at Ante Starcevic square in central Osijek.
The meeting was organised on the occasion of the fifth
anniversary of the first large exchange of prisoners of war,
which took place on 14 August 1992.
The Association's president Stefica Krstic stressed that
the search for the missing would continue.
Participants in the meeting read out their letters sent to
the Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and U.N. Transitional
Administration in Eastern Slavonia (UNTAES), protesting over the
ineffectiveness of the international community in the search for
missing and imprisoned persons.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of
associations of families of missing and imprisoned defenders from
Sisak, Petrinja, Zagreb, Varazdin, Cakovec, Vukovar and other
towns.
