ZAGREB, Aug 5 (Hina) - After being sworn in on occasion of Croatia's
Homeland Thanksgiving Day, Croatian President Franjo Tudjman laid a
wreath on the Altar of the Croatian Homeland in Medvedgrad Tuesday
at noon.
After laying the wreath, President Tudjman wrote the
following in the Guest Book:
"On the occasion of taking the solemn oath at the beginning of
my second term in office, I have laid a wreath on the Altar of the
Homeland in honour of all those who lived and died for the
realization of Croatia's freedom in independent, sovereign and
democratic Croatia. In Medvedgrad, on Homeland Thanksgiving Day, 5
August 1997, the President of the Republic of Croatia Franjo
Tudjman."
President Tudjman was accompanied by his wife Ankica,
parliament president Vlatko Pavletic, the president of the
parliament's House of Counties, Katica Ivanisevic, Tudjman's chief
of staff Hrvoje Sarinic, Interior Minister Ivan Penic, Deputy
Defense Minister Kresimir Cosic, the Croatian Army's chief of staff,
Lt. Gen. Pavao Miljavac, the president of the Supreme Court, Milan
Vukovic, the president of the Constitutional Court, Jadranko Crnic,
and Tudjman's chief aide-de-camp Major General Kresimir Kaspar.
