ZAGREB, 3 July (Hina) - The Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Thursday received a delegation of Dubrovnik Summer Festival, which is to be held under his auspices, a statement from the President's office said.

Culture Minister and president of the Festival's Committee, Bozo
Biskupic and Frano Matusic, director of the Festival, informed the
President about this year's event, which will gather some 1,200
participants from 17 countries.
The President stressed the importance of Dubrovnik Summer Festival
and of the town itself, which are the symbols of Croatia's affiliation
and contribution to western culture.
The meeting was also attended by Presidential Chief Of Staff Hrvoje
Sarinic, President's advisors Zlatko Vitez and Franjo Kajfez, as well as
the head of the President's cabinet, Gordan Radin.
The Festival's delegation included a member of the Festival's
Committee, Ruza Pospis-Baldani, Dubrovnik County Prefect Jure Buric,
Dubrovnik mayor Vido Bogdanovic, Assistant Culture Minister Jagoda
Martincevic, drama program director Josko Juvancic and Valter Despalj,
head of the Festival's music program, the statement concluded.
