VUKOVAR, July 10 (Hina) - A working group for the two-way return, which
consists of Croatian government, UNTAES and UNHCR officials, held talks
in Vukovar on Thursday, on manners of the return to two eastern Croatian
villages of Bilje and Sarengrad that are included, along with some other
UN-administrated villages, in a pilot programme for speedy two-way
return.
An assistant to the Croatian Reconstruction and Development
Minister, Stjepan Sterc, and the UNTAES refugee department head, Goran
Stigmer, said that they were talking about resolutions of many
individual problems on the ground.
Within this programme, they began today to register vacant houses
and assess war damage in Bilje and Sarengrad, Sterc said and added that
local Serbs were also being polled about their decisions for the future.
