TRAVNIK, July 31 (Hina) - The Central Bosnian Canton assembly, on
Thursday adopted amendments to the cantonal constitution which was, in
this way, harmonised the (Croat-Moslem) Bosnian Federal Constitution.
The amendments, that were passed at a session in Travnik, refer to
organisation of towns as units of local self-government and to the number of
assembly deputies.
However, the cantonal assembly failed to accept proposals for the
Canton's coat-of-arms and flag, as Croat members of the assembly
regarded that none of three proposals had been acceptable.
A bill on cantonal court was not passed at the Travnik session. Croats
demanded, for principled reasons, that parity between the number of
Moslem and Croat judges at the cantonal court be established, whereas
Moslems asked that the number of Moslem and Croat judges be determined
in relation to the 1991 census.
