TINJAN, July 19 (Hina) - The Croatian Maritime Affairs, Transport and Communications Minister Zeljko Luzavec on Saturday opened the 3.5- kilometre section of a motorway between Tinjan and Baderna (Istria, north Adriatic). Present at
the ceremony in Tinjan were Interior Minister Ivan Penic, Istria County prefect Stevo Zupic and representatives of the political and social life of Croatia and the Istria County.
TINJAN, July 19 (Hina) - The Croatian Maritime Affairs, Transport and
Communications Minister Zeljko Luzavec on Saturday opened the 3.5-
kilometre section of a motorway between Tinjan and Baderna (Istria,
north Adriatic).
Present at the ceremony in Tinjan were Interior Minister Ivan
Penic, Istria County prefect Stevo Zupic and representatives of the
political and social life of Croatia and the Istria County. #L#
The construction of the section amounts to 20 million kuna which
had been set aside mostly by the Croatian Roads Administration.
Zufic pointed out the importance of the newly-opened road for a
better connection between central Istria and the west coast, greater
traffic safety and development of economy and tourism.
Speaking about road construction in Istria, the county prefect
announced the beginning of construction of the section of the Istrian
motorway between Vodnjan and the Slovenian border.
Luzavec spoke about intense work on the construction of roads in
Croatia, and announced further activities especially orientated towards
connecting Croatia with the main European corridors.
