Dokmanovic had been transported to The Hague where he would await
further decisions of the Tribunal. UNTAES had in this case cooperated
with the ICTY investigators, in line with the UN Security Council
Resolution 1037, the statement said.
The action had been taken based on an ICTY indictment and had
nothing to do with any other legal accusations, requests or statements
of any other government, including the Croatian government, the
statement said.
Dokmanovic was the only war crimes suspect for whom it had been
known that he lived in the UN Transitional Administration region since
the UNTAES mandate had begun on 15 January 1996, the statement said.
