The people of Bulgaria and Croatia had been developing cultural
relations since last century, Tudjman said, adding that in its relations
with Bulgaria, Croatia also found important the fact that both countries
shared the same neighbouring country.
Speaking about the importance of relations between Greece and
Croatia, Tudjman said that Greece, as a member of the European Union,
was especially interested in road connections with western Europe.
"In the period of solving the crisis in the region of former
Yugoslavia, Greece was very rational and, notwithstanding its
traditional relations with Belgrade, it treated Croatia very fairly,"
Tudjman stressed, adding that Croatia's relations with Greece were
important for the development of tourism.
Present at the ceremony were the President's Chief-of-Staff Hrvoje
Sarinic, Foreign Minister Mate Granic and head of the President's
cabinet, Gordan Radin.
