COMMEMORATIVE GATHERING HELD FOR JAZOVKA VICTIMS

JAZOVKA, June 22 (Hina) - A commemorative gathering for the Jazovka victims was organized near the Jazovka cavern on the Zumberak hill (some 20 km west of Zagreb) on Sunday by the Croatian Pure Party of Right (HCSP), the Croatian Political Prisoners Association (HDPZ), the Croatian 1941-1945 Homeland Army (UHDV), the Croatian Homeland War Volunteers Association (UHBDDR) and the Croatian Defense Order. Today's commemoration featured speeches by the presidents of HCSP, Ivan Gabelica, and of UHDV Dragutin Pavlina, by Zvonimir Trusic on behalf of UNBDDR, and Branimir Peternel and Nedjeljko Kujundzic on behalf of HDPZ and HOR, who thus paid tribute to all innocent victims and fighters for Croatian state independence. After the speeches, a mass for the Jazovka victims, killed by the Communists shortly after WW2, followed. Wreaths from all associations and individuals were laid. (hina) ha 221721 MET jun 97
