VUKOVAR, 7 June (Hina) - The health care service in the UNTAES (U.N. Administration in Eastern Slavonia) Region will soon be fully integrated with the health care services of the Republic of Croatia. An Agreement on the reintegration
of the Regional health care service into the health care organisation of the Government of the Republic of Croatia was signed on June 6, 1997, a statement from the UNTAES public relations office in Vukovar said on Saturday.
VUKOVAR, 7 June (Hina) - The health care service in the UNTAES (U.N.
Administration in Eastern Slavonia) Region will soon be fully integrated
with the health care services of the Republic of Croatia.
An Agreement on the reintegration of the Regional health care
service into the health care organisation of the Government of the
Republic of Croatia was signed on June 6, 1997, a statement from the
UNTAES public relations office in Vukovar said on Saturday. #L#
According to the Agreement, the Croatian Government as represented
by the Ministry of Health agreed to abide by the Affidavit on employment
rights signed on 16 December 1996 and its Annex signed on 14 February
1997. Work contracts for the current employees of the Regional health
care service in the area currently under the administration of UNTAES
are to be completed and ready for distribution by no later than 16 June
1997.
The Ministry of Health will immediately commence financing the
costs of the Vukovar Hospital and the Beli Manastir Health Center, the
Agreement said.
Immediately upon the reintegration of the health care service in
the UNTAES region, the Ministry of Health shall assume responsibility
for all operational and other costs related to the provision of adequate
medical services in the region, the Agreement said.
The Agreement was signed by the Croatian Health Minister Andrija
Hebrang and the Transitional Administrator for Eastern Slavonia, Baranja
and Western Sirmium, Jacques Paul Klein.
