DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION OF VOTERS OUTSIDE BOSNIA PROLONGED

PALE, June 4 (Hina) - The transitional electoral commission of the OSCE mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina, on Wednesday decided to prolong the time frame for registration of eligible voters who stay outside the country. A spokesman for the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), said that the new deadline for the registration of those who would like to cast their ballots in September's municipal election, was set up for June 14, so that people could have one more week for registration. The spokesman David Foley added that interior ministers of both entities (the Moslem-Croat Federation and the Serb entity) had agreed with the demand of the OSCE mission's chief, U.S. Ambassador Robert Frowick, that OSCE supervisors may be granted access to all police stations in Bosnia. OSCE officials have the task to check the validity of documents of all persons who have applied for the voting but their citizenship or the right to be registered in a municipality where they had not lived before 1991 are questionable.
