SARAJEVO, June 2 (Hina) - The office of the international high
representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina on Monday urged signatories to the
Dayton peace agreement to fulfil their obligations after the
international community took significant steps last week to encourage
full implementation of the peace accord.
Spokesman Colum Murphy said in Sarajevo that the attitude of the
international community was clear after resolute statements by US
Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and decisions made at a
ministerial meeting in Sintra, Portugal.
It was evident after the latest diplomatic efforts that there was a
strong determination on both sides of the Atlantic to continue their
involvement in Bosnia-Herzegovina, he said.
Murphy said that the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina had changed
significantly after last week's diplomatic efforts. Most of the job on
establishing joint government institutions had been finished, laws
crucial for the functioning of the state had been adopted and the date
of a donors' conference had been set.
Murphy said that now it was necessary to remove from office those
saying one thing and doing another. Describing them as secessionists and
destroyers loathed by the international community, he said that those
people had no other choice but to step down.
