OSIJEK, March 24 (Hina) - A total of 111.000 persons with the right to vote at the forthcoming elections have been registered in the Croatian Danubian area by 13 March, out of which 39 percent, or 43,000 lived in the area at the
moment, president of the Croatian Displaced Persons' Association, Mate Simic, informed the Osijek County Displaced Persons' Association's administrative committee session on Monday.
OSIJEK, March 24 (Hina) - A total of 111.000 persons with the right to vote
at the forthcoming elections have been registered in the Croatian Danubian
area by 13 March, out of which 39 percent, or 43,000 lived in the area at
the moment, president of the Croatian Displaced Persons' Association, Mate
Simic, informed the Osijek County Displaced Persons' Association's

He said that, according to information of the UNTAES election
committee, 4,791 persons had been registered by 13 March who had arrived in
the area from other parts of Croatia after 1991 and 876 of which had said
they wanted to vote for their former place of residence.
Simic reiterated that the holding of the elections was a precondition
for the return of displaced persons to their homes.
