OF KILLED DEFENDERS, CIVIL VICTIMS
ZAGREB, 24 March (Hina) - High Croatian state officials on Monday laid
wreaths at the Homeland Altar on Mt Medvednica, on the occasion of the Day
of Mourning for all killed defenders and civil victims of the Homeland war.
On Monday, wreaths were laid and candles were lit at many cemeteries
in memory of Homeland war victims.
On behalf of the Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, President's Chief-
Of-Staff Hrvoje Sarinic laid a wreath at the Homeland Altar.
Sarinic was accompanied by the head of the National Security Office
Ivan Jarnjak, Defence Minister Gojko Susak, Interior Minister Ivan Penic,
the head of the President's Military Cabinet, Lieutenant General Miljenko
Crnjac and President's aide-de-camp, Major General Kresimir Kaspar.
Premier Zlatko Matesa laid a wreath on behalf of the Croatian
government. The Government delegation included vice premiers Ivica Kostovic
and Ljerka Mintas-Hodak, Health Minister Andrija Hebrang and Government
minister Juraj Njavro.
Parliament president Vlatko Pavletic laid a wreath at the Homeland
Altar on behalf of the Croatian Parliament. The Parliament delegation
included House of Counties president Katica Ivanisevic, House of
Representatives vice presidents Jadranka Kosor and Vladimir Seks and Janko
Bobetko, head of the House of Representatives Committee for War Veterans.
