ZAGREB, Mar 11 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on
Tuesday received UN's assistant high commissioner for refugees,
Sergio Vieira De Mello, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a
statement.
The talks focused on the course of the process of the peaceful
reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area and the plans for the
return of displaced persons to that area.
Croatia expected UNHCR to assist in the return of refugees to
the Croatian Danubian area, Granic said, adding that he hoped the
Croatian authorities and UNHCR would continue their good
cooperation in this demanding duty.
The talks focused in particular on problems arising in the
preparations for the return of displaced persons and the ways of
solving them.
Granic informed De Mello that the Croatian Government would
soon present a plan for the return of people to the Croatian
Danubian area, adding that the implementation of that plan would be
agreed on with Transitional Administrator Jacques Klein and the
Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees.
