SARAJEVO, March 6 (Hina) - The aim of the conference on the implementation
of the arbitration decision on the temporary status of the northern Bosnian
town of Brcko, due to take place in Vienna on Friday, is to direct
international efforts at resolving key problems, particularly those relating
to the return of refugees, a spokesman for the international high
representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Colum Murphy, said in Sarajevo on
Thursday.
Besides representatives of the international community, the Vienna
conference will also involve representatives of Bosnia-Herzegovina's two
entities and Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic.
Murphy commented on a statement by the co-chairman of the Bosnian
Council of Ministers, Haris Silajdzic, that the Council would not be
represented in Vienna because it had not been informed about preparations
for such a meeting and that Prlic would be travelling there as a private
person.
Murphy said that an invitation had been sent directly to Prlic so that
he, as the head of diplomacy, could participate in the part of negotiations
concerning the conclusion of an agreement with Croatia on opening the Sava
river border.
The Vienna conference is expected to discuss, among other things, the
establishment of a special police force for Brcko.
