PARIS, Mar 2 (Hina) - The Croatian President Franjo Tudjman's advisor for
national security, Luka Bebic, delivered in Paris on Saturday evening a
report on the political situation in Croatia to members of the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) and other Croatian parties. The report focused on the
reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area and the forthcoming elections,
as the key issues of Croatia's development and future.
The reintegration of the Danubian area should be completed peacefully,
Bebic pointed out and added that, to the Serb minority, the Croatian
authorities guaranteed the highest European standards of national and civic
rights. Bebic expected all Serbs who had not taken part in war crimes to
stay.
With the establishment of Croatian authority in the Croatian Danubian
area and the return of displaced persons, Bebic said that Croatia was
realizing the last strategic goal in the creation of an integral democratic
Croatia all over its territory. The forthcoming elections should in this
sense signify the establishment of Croatia's constitutional and juridical
order in that part of the country, as well as a direction towards progress
and the future, Bebic said and invited all Croatian emigrants, from France
and other countries, to take part in the development of a modern, prosperous
Croatian state.
