ZAGREB, Feb 13 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic, on Thursday
received the French Army headquarters chief-of-staff, General Jean-Philippe
Douine, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Minister Granic notified the French General of strategic goals of
Croatia's foreign policy with the emphasis on the completion of peaceful
reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area and on the successful
organization and conduct of elections.
Following the completion of the peaceful reintegration Croatia would
like to concentrate on the its development, and as being a central European
country, it was orientated toward coming closer to central European and
EuroAtlantic integration processes, Minister Granic said adding that
Croatia, as a signatory to the Washington and Dayton accords, would actively
participate and assist in their implementation.
The French Army headquarters chief-of-staff expressed full
understanding for the strategic orientations of Croatia, and voiced optimism
about the successful end of the mandate of UNTAES.
