WAS
$ DELIVERED TO KLEIN
ZAGREB, Feb 27 (Hina) - The Croatian Government, on Thursday denied
rumours that a new and very long list of persons from the Croatian
Danubian area, suspected of war crimes, had appeared.
At today's session, the Croatian Government denied absolutely
the existence of such a document.
During the visit of General Jacques Klein to Croatian
President Franjo Tudjman on February 17 this year, a list of 175
war crimes suspects was delivered to Gen. Klein. The Croatian
Government again emphasizes that it is the only list, the
government public relations office said in the statement.
It is clear that such rumours are a new attempt to stir up
anxiety among the local population in order to slow down or even
halt the process of peaceful reintegration, and thus to sabotage
the forthcoming elections in the Croatian Danubian area.
Therefore, the Croatian Government reiterates that there will
be no new list of war crimes suspects, the statement said in the
end.
