SARAJEVO, Feb 3 (Hina) - War will not break up again in
Bosnia-Herzegovina regardless of that a wanted Bosnian Serb
leader, Radovan Karadzic, threatened to re-start the war, in
his latest public appearance, a spokesman for the Bildt's
office said on Monday.
The spokesman Colum Murphy stressed that just the public
appearance of Karadzic was outrageous provocation.
He said such an act flouted an agreement Carl Bildt and
Richard Holbrooke had signed with Bosnian Serb authorities
last year, under which not only taking public office but also
appearing in the public was forbidden to Karadzic.
'Karadzic has made a serious mistake,' Murphy said and
foresaw that a day was coming closer when Karadzic could give
such comments only from The Hague.
Karadzic is twice indicted by the UN war crimes Tribunal
in The Hague.
Threats to re-kindle war in Bosnia, which Karadzic stated
in an interview with Greek Eleftheros Typos, were in fact his
comments on possible outcome of arbitration in the issue of
northern Bosnian town of Brcko, if it did not belong to
Bosnian Serbs.
Bildt's spokesman said such incendiary statements were
impermissible now when the arbitration procedure was being
finished.
Only arbitrators are entitled to make a decision on Brcko
and they should be let to decide in peace, Murphy said.
He warned that such acts as Karadzic's statements should
be tolerated no longer, as Karadzic was still exerting
considerable influence on political developments in the Serb
entity in Bosnia.
