RIJEKA, Feb 11 (Hina) - The "3. Maj" shipbuilding company based in the
northern Adriatic port city of Rijeka on Tuesday signed an agreement with
the "Scorpio Ship Management" of Monte Carlo on the construction of two oil
tankers.
"3. Maj" said in a statement that the agreement provided for the
possibility of building two more tankers for the same client.
Each tanker will be 228 metres long, 32 m wide and 20 m high, with a
maximum draught of 14 m. Their carrying capacity will be 70,700 tons and
will be powered by a 12,000 kW 3.Maj-Sulzer engine.
The statement said that the first two ships were due to be delivered
in 1999.
