MOSTAR, Feb 11 (Hina) - The press office of the SFOR Multinational Division
South East commander, on Tuesday issued a statement on Monday's events in
Mostar.
The statement said that "SFOR condemns the perpetrators of yesterday's
incidents in Mostar and would like to reaffirm, to all parties, its
commitment to provide security and promote freedom of movement
in all areas of BH (Bosnia-Herzegovina).
According to it, SFOR will not be distracted from its mission.
"To this end, SFOR, in co-ordination with the IPTF (International Police
Task Force), will significantly increase its vehicle control points
and surveillance activities in Mostar and its surrounding areas.
These measures will remain in effect until further notice and are
designed to reinstate a sense of calm and to prevent further hostilities
and aggressions by all parties," read the statement.
"The complete co-operation and support of all local authorities
is mandatory if SFOR is to succeed in its mission. SFOR also
reminds local media of its obligation to provide objective,
non-partisan reports," said the statement at the end.
