MOSTAR, Feb 10 (Hina) - Shortly before 17.00 hrs Monday more
than a hundred Bosnian Croats from the western part of Mostar
clashed hand to hand with about a hundred Bosniaks (Moslems)
from eastern halve of the town at the Carinski bridge near the
Ero Hotel.
Three Spanish SFOR groups, each with 30 troops, arrived
at the place of the incident and managed to separate the
groups in conflict, a spokesman for the SFOR Sector South-East
said.
According to the spokesman Mile Fabbro, a SFOR officer
got involved in the clash when he wanted to protect a Moslem
woman and then Croats hit him lightly and took a camera from
him.
Fabbro added that according to latest reports, one person
had died of sustained wounds in Monday's conflict outside the
Liska cemetery.
The nationality of the dead person has been still
unknown.
According to the SFOR spokesman, at least 20 persons were
hurt in Monday's unrest in Mostar.
