UNTAES OF $ FICER VINKOVCI, Jan 31 (Hina) - "President of the so-called Serb district" in the Croatian Danube river region Goran Hadzic, harshly condemned Friday's killing of an officer and the wounding of two UNTAES soldiers in Vukovar, and called "all citizens to condemn all such and similar excesses of individuals and, if possible, prevent them". Hadzic forwarded a letter of condolences to Belgian general Willy Hanset in which he harshly condemned "this senseless act" and expressed hope that "it will affect on our correct and friendly relations".
