ZAGREB, 7 Jan (Hina) - The president of the Croatian Social-Liberal Party (HSLS), Vlado Gotovac, on Tuesday stated that negotiations about cooperation with the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) were out of the question at the moment.
'We are not ready to negotiate at this moment (with HDZ). We would accept negotiation only after they have solved their own open questions and after they have acknowledged the 50 conditions we set earlier', Gotovac said at today's press conference, when asked whether HSLS would accept cooperation with HDZ.

At its session, held in December last year, the HDZ presidency
called on 'centrist parties, especially HSS (the Croatian Peasants'
Party) and HSLS, to join a systematic, equal and long-term
cooperation aimed at permanent strengthening and stability of the
independent, sovereign and democratic state of Croatia'.
The HDZ's call to cooperation had no new elements and it had
been communicated through the public, not through direct
communication with parties.
One of HSLS leaders, Drazen Budisa, added that the HDZ call
'is completely nontransparent and one does not know whether it
refers to the period before the elections or the one after the
elections.'
