SPLIT, Jan 23 (Hina) - Germany's Ambassador to Croatia, Volker
Haak, arrived in Split on Thursday for a two-day visit to Split-
Dalmatia County.
During talks with Tomislav Cicek, the head of the County
Chamber of Commerce, Ambassador Haak said that he completely agreed
with Croatian President Franjo Tudjman that after the first year in
peace-time circumstances Croatia was to have good prospects of
progress.
Croatia has a good rating in the world, and many German
companies are very interested in investing in Croatia, particularly
in its tourism, according to the Ambassador.
Cicek said that in 1997 Croatian tourism workers were
directing their attention to the German market with the wish that
their best guest would return to Croatia.
On Friday Ambassador Haak will visit German SFOR troops at the
Divulje logistical base and the German hospital at Seget Donji,
outside Split.
