of the European Community Monitoring Mission (ECMM) by signing a
document approving its activities, the Foreign Ministry reported
on Monday.
The Memorandum on Understanding between Croatia and EU member-
countries was signed by Foreign Minister Mate Granic, in keeping
with the conclusions adopted by the Government at its session of
December 18.
This is the first time Croatia has signed this document with the EU
on a bilateral basis.

Austria's Ambassador Rudolf Bogner signed the document on behalf of
the EU. Austria is chairing the EU Council of Ministers until the

The Memorandum will significantly contribute to the process of
institutionalising relations between Croatia and the EU, the
Foreign Ministry reported.
