MADRID, Dec 15 (Hina)- Over the past 12 months Croatia's moves and
strategic decisions have clearly proved its commitment to stronger
relations with BH, which clearly indicates Croatia's unconditional
support to the Dayton peace accord, Croatian Foreign Minister Mate
Granic told the Peace Implementation Council in Madrid on Tuesday.
"Agreements on special relations between Croatia and the BH
Federation and on unrestricted passage through Croatian territory
in and out of the port of Ploce, as well as passage through the area
of Neum (BH) are probably the most important agreements that have
been reached in accordance with the Washington and Dayton Accords",
Granic said.
The Minister said the agreements paved the way for the passing of a
transparent and precise legal framework that would enable the
Government to contribute to the establishment of a viable BH
economy.
"Both the agreement on special relations and current negotiations
prove that Croatia has always been fully committed to the
establishment of totally transparent relations with the BH
Federation and BH, as the key condition for lasting trust among all
parties", Granic said.
The negotiations Granic referred to were those within the bilateral
Croat-Bosniak commission for the borders and discussions on
contentious issues, especially the town of Martin Brod.
"I would like to especially emphasise Croatia's full respect for
the territorial integrity of BH", Granic said. He added Croatia had
no territorial claims regarding BH.
Foreign Minister voiced support for the Conference's intention to
call for a faster return of refugees. He stressed positive
experiences from the implementation of the Government's programme
for the return of refugees adopted in 1998.
