ZAGREB, Dec 3 (Hina) - Croatian European Integration Minister
Ljerka Mintas Hodak on Thursday held talks with Herman de Lange,
European Commission (EC) chief advisor for former Yugoslav
countries.
De Lange will participate in a two-day international donors'
conference on the development and reconstruction of Croatia,
opening in Zagreb tomorrow.
De Lange expressed willingness to offer financial and technical
assistance in the reconstruction of Croatia, within the limited
funds the EC envisaged for the entire area of the former Yugoslav
federation, and assistance in providing conditions for attracting
foreign investors.
According to a statement from the government's Communications
Office, de Lange emphasised the importance the programmes of the
European Bank for Investments would have in individual projects.
Hodak reiterated Croatia's firm resoluteness to reach standards
necessary for integration with Europe with or without assistance
from the EC and the European Union.
The last EC report opens the doors to deeper cooperation, and in
that respect, Croatia expects significant steps next year.
