POLICE PRESS CHARGES AGAINST PRESIDENT OF "GLUMINA BANKA" ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD

BOARD ZAGREB, Nov 26 (Hina) - Zagreb police on November 23 pressed criminal charges with the Zagreb State Attorney's Office against the president of the "Glumina Banka" administrative board, Marko Marcinko, due to the "misuse of office and powers", police spokesman Josip Begovic told reporters on Thursday. Speaking at the press conference, Begovic only named the initials M.M., adding that criminal charges had also been brought against another two officials at the "Glumina Grupa" corporation (K.M. and I.P.). The criminal charges were preceded by an investigation into the financial operations of "Glumina Banka", which was carried out by the police and financial inspectors. According to the findings of the investigation, aided by the two officials, Marcinko misused his office and powers in May and June last year. Begovic did not specify the nature of misuse due to the ongoing investigation into the operations of "Glumina Banka". The penal law envisages fines or prison sentences up to three years for the said criminal activity. (hina) rml/ab
