CRO. FINANCE MINISTER IN NORWAY TALKS ABOUT EURO AND VAT

OSLO, Nov 17 (Hina) - Croatian Finance Minister Borislav Skegro on Tuesday in Norway, spoke with representatives of the Norway's national bank and tax departments regarding the introduction of the Euro and Value Added Tax (PDV). Skegro arrived in Oslo on Monday on a two-day visit to Norway. In Oslo, Skegro met with Norway national bank's governor, Kjell Storvik and spoke about the repercussions of the introduction of the Euro seeing that both countries are to remain outside the system of the European currency. Further talks revolved around the effects of the global disturbances in the world market with regard to the economies of the two countries. Speaking with the principal of Norway's customs-tax departments, Frida Nokken, Skegro spoke about the tax systems of the two countries particularly with regard to the rate of Value Added Tax which is the same in Norway and Croatia. Skegro then met with representatives of Norway's agency for supervision and insurance of banks and insurance companies where he spoke about resolving bank crises particularly in light of the new Law on Banks in Croatia and the possible application of Norway's experiences to Croatia's banking system.
