BUDAPEST, Oct 20 (Hina) - According to the results of local
elections held on Sunday, Croats in Hungary will be able to
establish about 70 minority self-governments, said on Monday Mijo
Karagic, the president of the Croatian National Minority Self-
Government.
On Monday night, after the 90 per cent of votes had been counted, it
was acknowledged that Croats can establish 60 minority self-
governments. Karagic however stressed that it can realistically be
expected for the total number of the Croatian local self-
governments, including the ones in the villages populated by
Croatians, to reach 70.
Romany minority is the largest one in Hungary, followed by Germans,
and Slovaks are expected to have approximately the same number of
minority self-governments as Croats.
