the high reputation they enjoy among colleagues around the world.
An international jury of 15 members from ten countries awarded
three gold, four silver and three bronze medals to 16 Croatian
innovations presented at the 50th international exhibition of
inventions and innovations, "IENA", which closed in Nuremberg on
Sunday.
Nine of the 16 Croatian innovations were the work of high school
pupils. They were chosen among 50 graduation projects, presented in
Pula this June at the third inter-county exhibition of graduation
projects by pupils studying electrotechnics and electronics.
Adult Croatian innovators presented seven discoveries.
This year's "IENA" featured 300 exhibitors from 25 countries, and
500 innovations.
The Croatian innovators' presentation was organised by the
Croatian Innovators Alliance, which received considerable support
from the Education, Sports and Technical Culture Office of the
Zagreb City Authorities, and high schools from Zagreb, Rijeka,
Slavonski Brod, and Sisak. Substantial assistance was also
provided by innovators' associations from Pula and Karlovac, and
the Technology Centre from Rijeka.
