Croatia on Friday signed a contract on a ten-year concession for the
construction and use of the second digital mobile communication
network, the Ministry reported.
VIP-net Croatia is the second GSM concessionary in Croatia, in line
with the decision adopted by the Telecommunications Council on
September 7.
The consortium comprises Austria's MOBILKOM AG, Western Wireless
International from the United States, Zagreb's daily "Vecernji
list", the Ingra company and the Croatian Postal Bank. Domestic
investors hold 51 per cent of the shares.
VIP-net intends to invest between 1.2 and 1.5 billion kuna (around
