ZAGREB, Oct 29 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Thursday adopted
a decision to re-direct 130 million Austrian schillings, intended
for the construction of the Solin-Klis road (central Adriatic),
into the construction of sections of the motorway running from the
northern Adriatic port of Rijeka to Zagreb.
The Solin-Klis road will probably be completed by Easter 1999, said
the Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Communications,
Zeljko Luzavec.
In line with a Government decision from December 1997, the Finance
Ministry signed an agreement with the Vienna-based Raiffeisen
Zentralbank Oesterreich on the granting of a 260-million-schilling
loan for the construction of the Solin-Klis road.
The loan has not been completely used because other funds had been
used for the construction of the road, said Finance Minister
Borislav Skegro.
The Austrian bank has agreed to the proposal for the unused funds to
be re-directed into the construction of the Rijeka-Zagreb
motorway.
