WASHINGTON, Oct 22 (Hina) - The unstoppable process of
globalisation does not mean the end of national identity and
uniqueness, nor does the idea and realisation of the national state
mean the backward-looking opposition to establishing mutual ties
between countries.
The diplomatic representatives of Zambia, Hungary, Slovenia and
Croatia presented this conclusion, explained and amended with
their experience, at a panel discussion held on Wednesday at the US
Congress' House of Representatives, held under the auspices of
Congressman Michael McNulty.
Croatia's Ambassador Miomir Zuzul spoke about the special cultural
features and civilisation as well as the historical heritage of
nations and countries as the values of the whole mankind.
Hungary's Geza Jeszensky opposed the form of globalisation which
could erase national cultures and languages and warned of the
danger of establishment of a "bureaucratic" super-state.
Slovenia's Ambassador Dimitrije Rupel believes that an important
task of the modern world is to accomplish a model and mechanisms of
governing differences.
Zambia's Dunstan Kamana stressed that globalisation can not and
must not be a cover for domination, especially not that by
multinational companies.
