CAKOVEC, Oct 16 (Hina) - The damage done by floods registered in the
northern Croatian Medjimurje County on October 8 and 9 amounts to
US$250,000, a committee for estimating natural disaster-caused
damage reported on Friday.
A Romany settlement near Trnovac suffered the most damage. Among
else, damage has been done to agricultural land and roads.
Medjimurje County Prefect Branko Levacic thanked all who
participated in the rescue of people from the Romany settlement,
especially the Croatian Army which provided them with temporary
accommodation and food.
